Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a lonely small face-on grand design spiral galaxy located 185 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +22 degrees.  It is a magnitude 13 galaxy which spans 1.3 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 70,000 light years.

The arms extend out from the core for over 360 degrees of rotation.  Surprisingly for this distance, blue star clouds are seen in the disk along with possibly a small companion or two.

Something funny is happening in the disk at 6 o’clock, possibly due to a companion.  The arm has a large 30 degree gap before it picks up again.
